Di was born in Taipei, Taiwan, into a family with a deep appreciation for craftsmanship and design. Her family’s legacy extends across the jewelry and technology sectors — with her maternal side known for running a long-established jewelry business recognized by Taiwan’s most discerning collectors, and earlier generations involved in the island’s pioneering semiconductor and chip manufacturing industry. This unique dual heritage of precision and artistry continues to shape Di’s creative vision today.
From a young age, she collected gemstones and designed jewelry as a personal passion. Before entering the design world professionally, Di was a trained dancer who earned national recognition in Taiwan’s Modern Dance Awards during her teenage years. After a career-ending ankle injury, she redirected her creative energy toward design, moving to the United States in 2007 to continue her studies and build a new creative path.
Her professional experience includes collaborations with leading brands such as New Balance, Baggallini, Converse, and several international fashion houses. Known for her ability to merge function with refined beauty, Di is a versatile designer with an exceptional eye for form and detail.
Returning to her lifelong love for gemstones, Di continued her education with the Gemological Institute of America (GIA). Combining her technical training, family heritage, and design sensibility, she founded BOÎTE LAQUE — a jewelry house dedicated to curating timeless, meaningful pieces crafted with precision and soul.
